Mark

Part 1
a. Why is Mark considered a book for “readers with short attention spans”?
It is the shortest Gospel. Light on talk and heavy on action
b. What does Mark open up with (rather than a family tree or the birth of Jesus)?

He opens up with John the baptist baptising people.
c. What does Mark 1:7-8 say?

And this was his message: "After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. 8I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."
d. “Then Jesus took off to work”…doing what?

He rounding up disciples, healing houndreds, feeding thousands, calming storms, and walking on water.
Part 2
a. Why do people recognize Jesus as a rabbi?
He sounded like one.
b. What happened at the Sea of Galilee?
Jesus told Peter and Andrew to follow Him.
c. What did Jesus offer to make these fishermen?

He offered to make them fishers of men.
d. What did Andrew hear John the Baptist call Jesus?

Andrew heard John called Jesus the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
e. What did tax collectors do in Jesus’ time?
They overcharged people and grew rich from this.
f. Tell me about the “company” Jesus “keeps”.

Jesus hung out with sinners, tax collectors, and other bad people.

It starts small with Him and the disciples and grows to be a Christian movement around the world.
