        In James 3 we learned that the tongue is very powerful. It a small part of the body. It can cause great damages though. It is like water. You need it and use it, but it can also be harmful. Jmaes 3:5-6 says, "5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell."
       No man can tame teh tongue. Man can tame just about anything else except the tongue. We don't have enough self-control and discipline to control our tongue. We need God's help. James3:7-8 says, "7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison."
      We need God's wisdom in this crazy world. His wisdom is pure. It is supreme. It is peace-loving and considerate. It is also full of mercy and grace. The End.

Taylor, Jasmine, and Kim's super long Hebrews assignment

       The 12th chapter of Hebrews is very inspiring and challenging. I love how Paul uses a race to explain the Christian faith. He tells us to throw off all our sin and earthly pleasures. We need to run to Jesus. We need to push through all the trials and temptations.
         I love a few of the verses in this chapter. Hebrews 12:1-2 are some of my faves. It says,"1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." I also like Hebrews 12:28-29. It says, " Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29for our "God is a consuming fire." I enjoy this chapter.
         I am inspired and encouraged by this passage in God's Word.  I find Paul's metaphor of the race and our faith. The way he explains things is easy for me to understand. He is very blunt and bold. Someone we can look up to as an example in the faith.

Titus 3- Jasmine's paragraph

The part that stuck out to me the most was that we should walk in love. It says that before we were saved, we were involved in sin. So we shouldn't condemn others of their short-comings. Instead, we should be even more loving toward those who don't know the truth, because that used to be us. That is just extremely important in the christian walk.

Titus 3: Kim

     Well, in this chapter Paul tells Titus to remind the people to obey their authorities. They are to always do good. He reminds them of their sinful nature and all the terrible things they had done. Then he tells them about how God made us clean by sending Jesus. Then he sends his greetings to a bunch of people and tells them farewell.

Jasmine's paragraph

The fact that Jesus died for me is the most amazing thing about it! Another thing is that I have never really seen an in-depth anatomy of the crucifixion. The place that the nail went in his hand was the most painful place to put it. It was very difficult for him to just breath. Also, He could have easily died during the beating or walking with the cross, but he kept going to show us how much he loved us.

Kim's Paragraph

Well... I really thought the specific facts about the crucifiction were fascinating and heart breaking. The beating that Jesus went through was horrendous. His crucifiers were brutal to him. It really pains me to think about the pain and sufferings that he endured because of me and my sins. It is hard to even think about.
